Who To Look Up To?: Elite Athletes & Young Athlete Ambassadors

When a young athlete is asked who their favourite athlete is or which athlete inspires them most, they typically respond with the name of an athlete who is currently at the pinnacle of their sport. A young hockey player might say their favourite player is Sidney Crosby and a young tennis player might idolize Maria Sharapova.

How do I increase my scoring ?

Scoring goals is a matter of percentages. As a player you must constantly work on developing your skills. Stickhandling, passing, shooting, and skating are key. The more skilled you become the bettter your chances. Even after all this you might still have problems.

What else can you do? As a player you have to understand the percentages. The top NHL goal scores last year average 10% to 13% of their shots taken end up as goals. Only Teemu Selanne had a better percentage last year at about 18% and thats still not a high pecentage. Do the numbers if you only take 10 shots you might get 1 goal if you are accurate.
